Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, balance, reach, push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use color vision
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
  • Ability to write identifying information and request supplies verbally or in writing
  • Prior experience in a food preparation or cooking role preferred but not required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with team members
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and safety

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
  • Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
  • Prepares the woks by cleaning, heating to appropriate temperatures, and adding oil for cooking
  • Cooks soups first and then meats
  • Prepares vegetables and ready sauces adding spices
  • Combines all ingredients with meat
  • Places food in hot cases, monitors and refills as necessary
  • Orders product and supplies or notifies department head of needs
  • Cleans work area at the end of shift
  • Fills cold case with fresh-made food
  • Prepares items for the next day including storing meats in freezer
  • Understands all aspects of the Hy-Chi kitchen
  • Maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress standards
  • Adheres to company policies and store guidelines
  • Reports to work on time when scheduled
