Job Requirements

High school or equivalent
Ability to carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly
Vision capable of seeing from more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction
Ability to identify and distinguish colors
Physical ability to balance, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use finger dexterity, lift, grasp, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with noise, temperature extremes, and exposure to cleaning chemicals
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen
Availability to report to work as scheduled and on time

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
Written and oral communication skills to request supplies and communicate effectively
Ability to work as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction
Willingness to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
Commitment to punctuality and professionalism

Job Duties

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner inside and outside of the Hy-Chi department
Makes an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible
Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions
Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service
Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
Prepares woks by cleaning, heating, and adding oil
Cooks soups first, then meats and combines ingredients including sauces and spices
Places food in hot cases, monitors and refills as necessary
Orders products and supplies or notifies department head of needs
Cleans work area at the end of shifts
Fills cold case with fresh-made food
Prepares items for the next day including storing meats in the freezer
Understands all aspects of the Hy-Chi kitchen
Maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
Adheres to company policies and store guidelines
Reports to work when scheduled and on time
Checks rice as time permits
Takes customer orders at the Hy-Chi department counter when necessary
Assists in other store areas as needed
Performs other job related duties and special projects as required
