Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of public sector personnel administration principles
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments within deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year experience in human resources, employee relations, or related field is preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide information and general assistance to city staff and the public regarding human resource policies, procedures and processes
  • Scan, label and upload paper documents into computer files or database systems
  • Assist with any and all recruitment efforts
  • Update spreadsheets daily to ensure accuracy of recruitment information
  • Compose, compile, and prepare correspondence, reports and related documents as assigned
  • Serve as a back up to the Human Resource Team
  • Maintain employee human resource files, including pre-employment information, transfers, agreements, and ID cards
  • Operate office equipment including computer, copier, and telephone system
