Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in human resources, management operations, or related area
  • or 2-year degree from accredited university in human resources, business administration, or related major
  • 1 year experience in human resources, management operations, or related area
  • ability to work full time at Marina del Rey Marriott
  • eligibility for annual salary $70,310 to $85,000
  • bonus eligible
  • ability to attend job fairs and external events
  • strong communication skills
  • knowledge of legal compliance in HR practices

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in human resources or related field
  • OR 2-year degree in human resources, business administration or related major with 1 year experience
  • knowledge of recruitment and hiring procedures
  • experience with benefits administration
  • ability to conduct employee training and development
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • familiarity with employment laws and regulations
  • ability to manage compliance and documentation
  • experience managing employee relations
  • skills in conflict resolution and disciplinary procedures

Job Duties

  • assist in interviewing and hiring human resource staff
  • establish and maintain contact with external recruitment sources
  • attend job fairs and document outreach efforts
  • network with local organizations to source candidates
  • oversee candidate identification and selection process
  • provide subject matter expertise to property managers regarding selection procedures
  • partner with vendors to advertise positions effectively
  • perform quality control on candidate identification and selection
  • work with unemployment services provider to respond to claims
  • prepare, audit and distribute unemployment claim reports
  • attend unemployment hearings
  • ensure resources for benefits administration
  • support new hire training and orientation program
  • facilitate cross-training of employees
  • conduct ongoing training initiatives
  • ensure leadership participation in training
  • maintain employee communication channels
  • review progressive discipline documentation
  • utilize open door policy for employee concerns
  • refer employee issues to management
  • partner with Loss Prevention for accident investigations
  • communicate performance expectations
  • maintain secure employee files and compliance documentation
  • facilitate drug testing processes
  • communicate property rules and safety policies
  • conduct workers compensation claims management
  • oversee selection and offers process for compliance
  • represent Human Resources at safety committee meetings
