Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • 3 years experience in human resources management operations or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from an accredited university in human resources business administration or related major
  • 1 year experience in human resources management operations or related professional area
  • ability to work onsite at marriott marquis houston
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • proficiency in ms office and hr information systems
  • knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • ability to handle sensitive employee information confidentially

Job Duties

  • assists in interviewing and hiring human resources employee team members
  • establishes and maintains contact with external recruitment sources
  • attends job fairs and documents outreach efforts
  • networks with local organizations to source candidates
  • oversees candidate identification and selection process
  • provides subject matter expertise to property managers regarding selection procedures
  • administers employee benefits and responds to unemployment claims
  • supports departmental employee orientation and training
  • ensures cross-training of employees
  • facilitates new hire orientation program
  • maintains effective employee communication channels
  • reviews progressive discipline documentation
  • addresses employee problems through open door policy
  • refers issues to management or human resources director
  • partners with loss prevention for accident investigations
  • communicates performance expectations
  • ensures compliance with employment paperwork and performance documentation
  • maintains secure employee and medical files
  • facilitates drug testing processes
  • communicates property rules and safety policies
  • conducts claims reviews with regional office
  • represents human resources at safety committee
  • manages workers compensation claims
  • oversees proper selection and notification processes
