Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 3 years of experience in recruiting, safety, workers' compensation, and ergonomics
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a high school diploma with 4 years experience in recruiting, safety, workers' compensation, and ergonomics
- Basic knowledge of employment law and workers' compensation laws
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience developing and delivering training programs
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to type 50 words per minute
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Full use of an automobile with a valid California driver's license and liability insurance
- Must maintain a safe driving record

Job Duties
- Manage the recruitment process for assigned units or departments including updating job descriptions and salary analyses
- Coordinate job postings using applicant tracking systems and online recruiting sites
- Collaborate with managers on applicant discussions and participate in interviews upon request
- Schedule and administer employment tests
- Conduct verbal job offers and coordinate background checks and drug screens
- Prepare new employee paperwork and coordinate new hire orientation including safety presentations
- Input new hires into the HR information system
- Generate personnel action letters and notify relevant departments of new hires, updates, and separations
- Manage safety and workers' compensation claims from onset to closure, maintain case files and follow up on open cases
- Serve as liaison with employees, workers' compensation carriers, and clinics
- Evaluate accidents and recommend safety improvements
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and regulations and communicate updates to management
- Prepare reports on safety activities for Human Resources Manager and relevant governing bodies
- Complete annual OSHA 300A logs
- Process employee requests for ADA ergonomic equipment
- Assist with HR event planning including hiring events, open enrollment, and employee appreciation events
- Participate as an active team member providing expertise and contributing to efficiency
- Maintain orderly work areas and comply with safety rules and injury prevention plans
- Adapt to hybrid work environment, and maintain effective communication via multiple channels
- Utilize agency’s IT systems maintaining appropriate security protocols
- Keep managers informed of workflow and challenges
- Continue knowledge updates through training and briefings
- Perform document transport duties between office locations
- Perform additional work as assigned
