Job Requirements

  • high school diploma required
  • minimum of 4 years hotel management experience of department head or above
  • full-service hotel experience
  • proven managerial skill involving decision-making, contract negotiations, and large-scale project coordination
  • ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
  • thorough knowledge of human resources laws and regulations
  • computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • direct and instruct management staff in effective recruiting and interviewing techniques
  • conduct interviews for management positions
  • develop and administer personnel policies and programs
  • ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
  • manage wage and benefit administration
  • review and approve personnel changes and HR paperwork
  • conduct one-on-one meetings with direct reports
  • maintain open communication channels across all employee levels
  • facilitate positive employee relations
  • plan and execute employee recognition events
  • manage hiring focusing on talent, diversity, and skills balance
  • maintain succession planning
  • develop and implement orientation and training programs
  • manage training initiatives and conduct training sessions
  • oversee progressive discipline procedures
  • communicate business objectives and expectations to employees
  • monitor employee performance appraisal programs
  • address employee feedback and concerns
  • maintain ongoing employee recognition
  • participate in cultural and community service initiatives
  • supervise and motivate department staff
  • monitor safety and workers' compensation programs
  • maintain confidential personnel records
  • ensure timely submission of corporate and governmental reports
  • handle general HR correspondence
  • answer telephone inquiries
  • manage special projects as assigned
  • administer and track guest service scores
