Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in human resources or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources or related discipline
- Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- Relevant experience in a human resources department
- Knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, HIPAA, ADA
- Experience with recruitment and hiring processes
- Familiarity with workers compensation claims processing
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with HRIS and other HR software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in training coordination and development
- Competency in maintaining personnel and compliance records
Job Duties
- Update HRIS with revised policies, standard operating procedures and other relevant information as needed
- Compare and review company handbook to SHRM for changes needed
- Conduct competitive pay market research
- Recruit including hiring, job and pay classification, employee compensation and benefits, and coordinating advertisements with marketing company
- Issue applicant written skills tests
- Complete applicant reference checks
- Onboard and offboard employees
- Complete and file I9 forms
- Process E-Verify for U.S. work authorization confirmation
- Create and assign surveys
- Issue new hire personal protective equipment and deplete inventory
- Maintain employee files both physical and electronic
- Assign weekly safety videos for organization
- Manage leave and attendance for disciplinary and payroll purposes
- Adjust unused weekly paid time off (PTO) to reflect accurate accrual balance
- Reconcile monthly benefit statements
- Track FMLA
- Maintain OSHA 300 Log
- Review and track unemployment and reemployment claims and update supervisor for response deadline
- Initiate workers compensation claim and investigation report
- Facilitate transition to work program when available
- Conduct background investigations
- Verify employee driver licenses and MVRs to place employees on company insurance
- Track CDL license and medical card expiration dates
- Assist with creating learning and development programs and provide training to employees and management as needed
- Oversee personnel records management ensuring logs and destruction comply with regulations
- Assist with yearly file audits
- Coordinate all training set-up and concessions including announcements and reminders
- Assist with apprenticeship program recordkeeping
