Job Requirements
- Enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program
- completion of at least one year of college
- six months' office or business experience
- ability to work 20-25 hours per week during semesters and full-time in summer up to 1,500 hours annually
- ability to maintain academic enrollment throughout internship
- ability to work Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
- ability to handle confidential information
- ability to communicate effectively
- maintain alertness and awareness of surroundings
- ability to work with diverse groups
- pass any required testing
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of college completed
- pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Communication, Management or related field
- six months' experience in general office or business environment
- proficient in Microsoft Office and related software
- ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
- attention to detail and accuracy
- ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- strong customer-focused communication skills
- ability to project a positive image of the organization
- adherence to company policies
Job Duties
- Greet applicants for recruitment
- assist applicants with completing online applications
- answer telephones and direct inquiries
- enter and maintain recruitment-related information in applicant tracking and human capital management systems
- schedule appointments for pre-hire screening
- reconcile monthly expenses and forward to Accounts Payable
- assist with advertising on websites, newspapers and periodicals
- assist with job postings and maintenance of recruitment communications
- assist in screening applicants for qualifications
- schedule and administer pre-employment testing
- make arrangements for interviews and candidate travel
- conduct reference checks including employment and education verification
- prepare confidential correspondence and maintain files
- assist with ID Badge System including taking pictures
- file and maintain electronic records
- assist with employment verification
- represent City Utilities at job fairs
- perform other related duties as assigned
