Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in human resources or safety roles
  • Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual communication in English and Spanish
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Proficiency with HRIS and time attendance systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines
  • Reliable and detail oriented
  • Ability to conduct employee training
  • Good organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Organize and manage annual trainings such as HACCP, safety, sexual harassment, and butcher certification
  • Assist in developing and implementing safety plans and programs
  • Evaluate production positions to create SOPs
  • Create job analyses to determine safety gear and physical requirements
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure compliance with PPE and GMPs
  • Handle accident reports and file records within 24 hours
  • Manage workers compensation injury reporting
  • Follow up with physicians and employees on work restrictions and diagnoses
  • Maintain OSHA logs and regulatory forms
  • Serve as point of contact for work-related injuries
  • Gather data for safety committee and update accident analysis reports
  • Address employee questions on PPE, working conditions, and workers compensation
  • Replenish orders for protective equipment
  • Coordinate annual audiometric testing
  • Schedule safety training such as LOTO, PIT certification, and fall protection
  • Participate in bi-weekly safety committee meetings
  • Assist with emergency response training and evacuation procedures
  • Maintain first aid certification and assist with first aid training
  • Conduct locker clean outs
  • Handle disciplinary actions for policy violations
  • Investigate employee complaints and document outcomes
  • Plan and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Manage employee questions on benefits, vacation, and discipline
  • Update HRIS and personnel files with status changes
  • Collaborate on special projects
  • Assist with employee event planning
  • Monitor temporary agencies for compliance
  • Translate correspondence and training between English and Spanish
  • Perform other duties as needed
