- Completion of company orientation
- Food safety and sanitation training upon hire

- Ability to perform detailed and precise tasks

- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and manage heavier weights with assistance

Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answer customer questions regarding products
- Assist with product selections
- Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
- Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
- Assist in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- Use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Clean and sanitize display cases
- Operate and maintain equipment properly
- Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Comply with department and store operating procedures
- Perform department-specific responsibilities based on assigned area such as bakery production planning, deli service counter support, or prepared foods packaging and education
