Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment performing detailed and precise tasks
- Ability to work with customers attentively
- Physical ability to perform department-specific tasks such as lifting up to 50-55 lbs and managing heavier weights with assistance
- Willingness to comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Reliable communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products
- Assists with selections
- Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Assists in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates and maintains equipment properly
- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Complies with department and store operating procedures
- Performs additional department-specific responsibilities such as bakery production logging, deli service counter management, or prepared foods packaging depending on assignment
