Job Description

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or G.E.D.
- one-year experience cooking food for large groups
- one-year experience performing security or social service work preferred
- ability to cook, taste, and smell food
- ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment
- ability to work evenings and nights
- ability to perform duties requiring combinations of sitting, standing, and walking
- ability to perform duties in social services environment with possible exposure to communicable diseases
Job Qualifications

- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Job Duties
- accepts and processes residents staying in shelter overnight
- monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules
- maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information
- ensures that shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order
- plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules
- ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner
- cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances
- maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner
