Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) is a nonprofit consortium of Alaska Native tribal governments that provides a broad range of health, social, and public services to benefit Alaska Native people. Job Requirements
- At least three years of experience providing behavioral health or case management services
- bachelor’s degree in human service or social work preferred or equivalent experience
- must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- must have CDC1 or CDCII certification
- must maintain strict client confidentiality
- must pass state of Alaska background check and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements
- knowledge of Medicaid third party billing
- cross-cultural treatment skills and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures and traditions
- understanding of and commitment to the Housing First philosophy
- strong computer skills
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to prioritize and work as part of a team
- excellent customer service skills
- knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations
- ethical commitment to mental wellness and recovery
Job Qualifications

- bachelor’s degree in human service or social work preferred or equivalent experience
- three years’ experience providing behavioral health or case management services

- cross-cultural treatment skills and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures and traditions
- understanding of and commitment to the Housing First philosophy
- strong computer skills using electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications
- strong verbal communication, analytical and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Assist residents in obtaining financial support to insure basic needs are met
- assist residents in scheduling activities of daily living including shopping, recreation, social interactions and vocational skill building
- assist residents in keeping appointments with behavioral health and health providers
- provide functional assessments, behavioral health intakes and releases of information, case service reports, alcohol assessments, individual and group skills development, case management and comprehensive recovery support services
- maintain clinical and administrative records according to policy and Medicaid standards, submit reports and data timely
- gather and prepare information to meet all grant reporting requirements, maintain data collection through AKHIMS and Service Point systems
- coordinate with other private and public human services providers
- provide crisis intervention as needed
- refer residents for specialized services
- routinely inspect the physical facility and report deficiencies to maintenance staff
- maintain regular contact with residents to ensure safety of residents, building and grounds
- promote a positive living environment through weekly informal gatherings
- ensure resident files are current and correct
- help residents establish and maintain appropriate relationships
- assist residents in maintaining permanent housing through motivational techniques and coordination of support services
- participate in Housing First team meetings
- oversee and coordinate assigned residential support staff team as directed
