Job Requirements
- must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly
- ability to stand during entire shift
- must communicate effectively verbally and in writing with employees and guests
- must be attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is a plus
- basic understanding of cleaning equipment and materials
- ability to follow instructions and work efficiently
- strong communication skills
- team player with a positive attitude
- attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- ability to handle physical demands of the job
Job Duties
- stock room attendant carts with adequate supplies
- maintain vacuum and cleaning equipment
- notify supervisor of supply shortages
- remove trash and dirty linens from carts
- ensure hotel public areas meet standards
- clean furniture, elevators, glass, and planters in public areas
- sweep and vacuum floors, hallways, and stairwells
- report maintenance problems and complete repair orders
- spot clean walls, carpets, light fixtures, and carts
- turn in lost articles to management
- replenish supply storerooms and rotate linens
- maintain shelf organization in storerooms
- take corrective action to improve work area safety
- deliver special request items to guest rooms
- keep supervisor informed of problems or unusual matters
