Job Requirements

  • must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly
  • ability to stand during entire shift
  • must communicate effectively verbally and in writing with employees and guests
  • must be attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is a plus
  • basic understanding of cleaning equipment and materials
  • ability to follow instructions and work efficiently
  • strong communication skills
  • team player with a positive attitude
  • attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • ability to handle physical demands of the job

Job Duties

  • stock room attendant carts with adequate supplies
  • maintain vacuum and cleaning equipment
  • notify supervisor of supply shortages
  • remove trash and dirty linens from carts
  • ensure hotel public areas meet standards
  • clean furniture, elevators, glass, and planters in public areas
  • sweep and vacuum floors, hallways, and stairwells
  • report maintenance problems and complete repair orders
  • spot clean walls, carpets, light fixtures, and carts
  • turn in lost articles to management
  • replenish supply storerooms and rotate linens
  • maintain shelf organization in storerooms
  • take corrective action to improve work area safety
  • deliver special request items to guest rooms
  • keep supervisor informed of problems or unusual matters
