Job Requirements
- Minimum tenth grade education
- must be 18 years or older
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
- emotional resilience to cope with job stress
- good health and free from communicable diseases
- ability to communicate in English
- prior housekeeping experience in healthcare preferred but not required
Job Qualifications
- Must have a minimum tenth grade education
- no experience required though housekeeping experience in healthcare is preferred
- must be at least 18 years old
- ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- ability to remain calm and cope with mental and emotional stress
- strong attention to detail
- good general health and free of communicable diseases
- visual acuity and ability to hear with or without prosthetics
- physical ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, move intermittently, climb stairs, use elevator, assist residents
- ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment over fifty pounds and stand for extended periods
- ability to read, write and speak English
Job Duties
- Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas such as hallways, dining rooms and recreational areas
- dust, sweep, mop and vacuum floors and perform carpet cleaning as needed
- clean and sanitize surfaces such as furniture, countertops, sinks, toilets, and showers
- clean walls, windows, mirrors, vents, elevators and stairways as needed
- dispose of trash and hazardous waste according to facility policies and procedures
- ensure all equipment/tools, including cleaning chemicals are properly stored at all times
- restock housekeeping supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap/sanitizer dispensers as needed
- assist with laundry services including washing, drying, folding and restocking resident clothing and linens
- report maintenance needs or hazardous conditions
- provide assistance during resident meal times by setting up trays, removing lids, opening drinks, providing clothing protectors, observing residents and reporting concerns to Charge Nurse
- communicate positively with healthcare team members, residents, families, visitors and vendors
- adhere to policies including infection control, safety and HIPAA regulations
- maintain a calm caring environment
- comply with all safety and sanitation procedures
- attend in-service programs, educational workshops and meetings as required
- perform other duties as assigned
