Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- willingness to work 20 hours per week over 4 days with 5 hour shifts
- ability to work mandatory every other weekend
- ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning duties
- compliance with hospital vaccination policies including influenza vaccine
- ability to use cleaning chemicals safely
- ability to operate floor care machines
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- knowledge of infection control practices preferred
- ability to operate cleaning equipment
- basic computer skills
- ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures
- good communication skills
- ability to work in a team environment
Job Duties
- Cleans patient rooms daily according to hospital and department standards using seven step procedures
- cleans patient discharges
- cleans precaution rooms according to infection control policies using proper disinfectants
- cleans all restrooms daily and restocks paper supplies
- cleans offices and conference rooms daily
- cleans entrances, lobbies and waiting areas daily and vacuums carpets
- cleans utility rooms, nourishment stations, corridors and ancillary areas
- collects all soiled linen from patient units and designated areas and replaces laundry bags
- collects and sorts trash, plastics, cardboard and blue wrap for disposal
- cleans, strips, refinishes, spray buffs, shampoos and maintains floors using automatic floor machine and other equipment
- participates in EVS in-service training, department meetings and safety meetings
- works with basic computer programs and TDSS device
- performs other duties as assigned
