Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job including lifting bending and standing for long periods
  • Flexibility to work assigned shifts including evenings
  • Previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Arrange furniture for meetings and workshops and community affairs
  • Assist in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
  • Clean housekeeping closet and maintain par levels
  • Collect and transport all waste including regulated medical waste according to policy
  • Compact trash or place in containers
  • Damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
  • Dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices
  • Dust mop and wet mop corridors stairwells and other common areas
  • Empty waste receptacles and remove trash
  • Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and have repairs made when needed
  • Observe and report the need to repair equipment furniture building and fixtures
  • Perform patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
  • Refill paper towels toilet paper soap and toilet seat dispensers
  • Ensure patient rooms are always patient ready with tent cards toilet seat bands and privacy curtains
