Job Requirements

  • Ability to work day shift from 7 AM to 3 PM
  • Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
  • Ability to assist in emergency spill cleaning
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers and shampooers
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including mopping, dusting, and waste handling
  • Understanding and adherence to hospital cleaning protocols
  • Good communication skills for reporting maintenance issues

Job Qualifications

  • Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
  • Previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
  • Assist in cleaning emergency spills observed or upon request
  • Clean housekeeping closet and maintain par levels
  • Collect and transport all waste, including regulated medical waste according to policy
  • Compact trash or place it in containers
  • Damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
  • Dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices
  • Dust mop and wet mop corridors, stairwells and other common areas
  • Empty waste receptacles and remove trash
  • Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and arrange repairs when needed
  • Observe and report the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
  • Perform patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
  • Refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
  • Ensure patient rooms are patient ready with tent cards, toilet seat bands and privacy curtains
