Job Requirements
- Ability to work day shift from 7 AM to 3 PM
- Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
- Ability to assist in emergency spill cleaning
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers and shampooers
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including mopping, dusting, and waste handling
- Understanding and adherence to hospital cleaning protocols
- Good communication skills for reporting maintenance issues
Job Qualifications
- Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
- Previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred
Job Duties
- Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
- Assist in cleaning emergency spills observed or upon request
- Clean housekeeping closet and maintain par levels
- Collect and transport all waste, including regulated medical waste according to policy
- Compact trash or place it in containers
- Damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
- Dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices
- Dust mop and wet mop corridors, stairwells and other common areas
- Empty waste receptacles and remove trash
- Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and arrange repairs when needed
- Observe and report the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
- Perform patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
- Refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
- Ensure patient rooms are patient ready with tent cards, toilet seat bands and privacy curtains
