Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures
- physically able to perform cleaning duties including lifting and bending
- ability to work a day shift from 7 AM to 3 PM
- strong attention to detail
- effective communication skills
- commitment to workplace safety and infection control protocols
Job Qualifications
- Successful completion of general and department-specific orientation
- previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred
Job Duties
- Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
- assist in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
- clean housekeeping closet and maintain par levels
- collect and transport all waste, including regulated medical waste, according to policy
- compact trash or place in containers
- damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
- dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices
- dust mop and wet mop corridor, stairwells and other common areas
- empty waste receptacles and remove trash
- maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and have repairs made when needed
- observe and report the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
- perform patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
- refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
- ensure all patient rooms are patient ready with tent card, toilet seat band and privacy curtains
