Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures
  • physically able to perform cleaning duties including lifting and bending
  • ability to work a day shift from 7 AM to 3 PM
  • strong attention to detail
  • effective communication skills
  • commitment to workplace safety and infection control protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Successful completion of general and department-specific orientation
  • previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
  • assist in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
  • clean housekeeping closet and maintain par levels
  • collect and transport all waste, including regulated medical waste, according to policy
  • compact trash or place in containers
  • damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
  • dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices
  • dust mop and wet mop corridor, stairwells and other common areas
  • empty waste receptacles and remove trash
  • maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and have repairs made when needed
  • observe and report the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
  • perform patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
  • refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
  • ensure all patient rooms are patient ready with tent card, toilet seat band and privacy curtains
