Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of general and department-specific orientation
Ability to work the scheduled evening shift from 3 PM to 11 PM
Physical ability to perform cleaning duties
Ability to follow safety and infection control policies
Reliable and punctual
Previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred

Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing techniques in healthcare
Ability to follow established cleaning protocols
Ability to work evening shifts
Good physical stamina and attention to detail
Basic communication skills

Job Duties

Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
Cleans housekeeping closet and maintains par levels
Collects and transport all waste, including RMW, according to policy
Compacts trash or places in containers
Damp buffs and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
Dry and wet mops floors of rooms and offices
Dust mops and wet mops corridor, stairwells and other common areas
Empties waste receptacles and removes trash
Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and has repairs made when needed
Observes and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
Performs patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
Refills paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
Ensures all patient rooms are Patient Ready with tent cards, toilet seat bands, and privacy curtains
