Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to follow standardized cleaning procedures
  • Ability to use mechanical cleaning equipment and chemical solutions safely
  • Willingness to wear protective attire and follow safety rules
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Must comply with OSHA and JCAHO standards
  • Ability to report hazards and maintain a safe work environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment operation
  • Ability to follow safety and compliance standards such as OSHA and JCAHO
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards

Job Duties

  • Prepares cleaning solutions, housekeeping supplies and equipment to perform cleaning tasks
  • Dusts and cleans furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, vents, ledges, blinds, shades, radiators, doors and frames, moldings, windows, lights, clocks, signs, cabinets and other surfaces
  • Cleans bathrooms, fixtures, pipes, tile walls, metals, partitions and replenishes soap and paper supplies
  • Disinfects rooms, beds, patient furniture and equipment using germicidal solutions
  • Hangs or removes cubicle curtains, drapes, shades and blinds
  • Spot cleans windows, walls, carpets and vacuums carpets and upholstered furniture
  • Properly disposes of regular, recyclable, sharp items and regulated medical waste while wearing protective attire
  • Reports safety hazards such as leaky pipes, broken furniture or blinds
  • Operates cleaning equipment safely and maintains equipment cleanliness as per guidelines
  • Follows OSHA and JCAHO standards and departmental procedures
