Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to perform physical tasks related to cleaning and waste management
- willingness to work night shifts and weekends
- effective communication skills
- adherence to hospital sanitation and safety protocols
- prior experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred
Job Qualifications
- Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
- previous hospital housekeeping preferred
Job Duties
- Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
- assist in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
- clean housekeeping closet and maintain par levels
- collect and transport all waste including regulated medical waste according to policy
- compact trash or place in containers
- damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
- dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices
- dust mop and wet mop corridor, stairwells and other common areas
- empty waste receptacles and remove trash
- maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report repairs when needed
- observe and report the need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
- perform patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
- refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
- ensure all patient rooms are patient ready with tent cards, toilet seat bands and privacy curtains
