Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to work weekends and flexible schedules
Job Qualifications
- Experience working in a healthcare environment in Environmental Services preferred
- Friendly attitude and excellent communication skills required
- Ability to express self adequately in written and oral communication
- Ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members
Job Duties
- Clean assigned resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily according to facility procedures
- Respect residents' privacy and preferences regarding room arrangement and personal items
- Clean walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxed floors following department procedures and cleaning schedules
- Secure housekeeping supplies out of reach of residents at all times
- Dispose of trash and waste, including biohazardous materials, in accordance with facility policies
- Post safety hazard signs during housekeeping activities posing environmental risks
- Use personal protective equipment when exposure to hazardous materials is possible
- Comply with safety instructions and procedures when using chemical substances
- Monitor and report evidence of rodents or pests
- Communicate with Maintenance Director for state inspections and attend survey training as instructed
- Report injuries to supervisors immediately
- Attend in-service education programs and apply acquired knowledge
- Monitor workplace for safety and fire hazards, correcting or reporting issues promptly
- Participate in fire and disaster drills and perform assigned duties during emergencies
- Lift up to 50 pounds as needed
