Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to work weekends and flexible schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment in Environmental Services preferred
  • Friendly attitude and excellent communication skills required
  • Ability to express self adequately in written and oral communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members

Job Duties

  • Clean assigned resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily according to facility procedures
  • Respect residents' privacy and preferences regarding room arrangement and personal items
  • Clean walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxed floors following department procedures and cleaning schedules
  • Secure housekeeping supplies out of reach of residents at all times
  • Dispose of trash and waste, including biohazardous materials, in accordance with facility policies
  • Post safety hazard signs during housekeeping activities posing environmental risks
  • Use personal protective equipment when exposure to hazardous materials is possible
  • Comply with safety instructions and procedures when using chemical substances
  • Monitor and report evidence of rodents or pests
  • Communicate with Maintenance Director for state inspections and attend survey training as instructed
  • Report injuries to supervisors immediately
  • Attend in-service education programs and apply acquired knowledge
  • Monitor workplace for safety and fire hazards, correcting or reporting issues promptly
  • Participate in fire and disaster drills and perform assigned duties during emergencies
  • Lift up to 50 pounds as needed
