Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree GED required
  • Three to six months experience in housekeeping or janitorial position required
  • Proficiency in English language enabling the employee to read write comprehend and communicate simple instructions correspondence memos etc
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

Job Duties

  • Clean offices and common areas including meeting rooms hallways reception area dining rooms and laundry rooms by vacuuming carpets mopping and sweeping tile and other hard surface flooring dusting furniture and lamps cleaning mirrors and interior glass surfaces wiping window blinds removing cobwebs cleaning laundry room
  • Clean common-area bathrooms including mopping floors sanitizing and cleaning toilets and sinks restocking bathroom items and refilling soap dispensers wiping mirrors
  • Clean employee break room including defrosting refrigerator wiping inside and outside of refrigerator disposing of expired items
  • Manage trash rooms and areas including emptying trash gondolas into outdoor dumpsters mopping and sweeping trash room floors clearing snow around dumpsters in winter
  • Perform other key responsibilities such as cleaning resident apartments during turnovers washing community windows at least quarterly completing and submitting maintenance slips maintaining housekeeping equipment and supplies performing annual deep cleaning supporting business outcomes and employee engagement responsible for floor maintenance of apartment buildings clubhouse and other community common areas assisting with emergency housekeeping issues as needed
