Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired but not essential
  • previous related experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or cleaning services strongly preferred
  • must be able to stand, walk, carry, talk, listen and coordinate with other team members
  • must be able to be on feet for large portion of the shift
  • able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate tools
  • must be able to lift and move heavy objects including chairs, tables, carts and furnishings up to approximately 20 pounds overhead
  • must maintain focus and attentiveness for extended periods
  • must be able to plan and prepare for successive tasks within rooms and shifts
  • must wear hotel issued uniform and non-slip shoes during shifts
  • must be available to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired but not essential

  • physical capability to perform duties including lifting and moving furniture and supplies

Job Duties

  • Seek opportunities to exceed guest and team members expectations
  • maintain safety and security at all times including guest suites, fire safety, laundry chutes, storage rooms and stairwells
  • handle cleansers, bleaches, and detergents safely and know MSDS organization
  • understand and apply all Health Department standards of room and suite cleanliness including use of sanitizers, cleansers, handling glassware, refrigerators, microwaves, and linens
  • complete all essential training within 7 days of hire and other hotel orientation within 30 days
  • consistently clean assigned rooms and suites to Marriott GSS standards
  • pay attention to detail ensuring rooms and suites are attractive, neat and extremely clean with guest supplies presented correctly
  • follow hotel procedures for operating supplies, linens, and amenities
  • maintain storeroom shelf organization and replenish supplies
  • remove trash and dirty linens from rooms and suites
  • sweep, mop and vacuum floors
  • report maintenance problems or complete work repair orders
  • spot clean walls, carpets, and light fixtures
  • sort, launder, fold and store hotel linens in laundry area
  • perform deep cleaning and special projects as assigned
  • wear hotel issued uniforms properly and maintain them according to laundering and care instructions
  • wear non-slip shoes for safety
  • assist other hotel areas as requested
  • communicate effectively with guests using courtesy, tact and diplomacy
  • safely move suite furnishings and carts
  • follow daily work assignments accurately and efficiently
  • adhere to all safety and security guidelines throughout the shift
