Job Requirements
- Less than high school education required
- Valid driver license required
- Must be at least 21 years old if operating vehicles
- Clean driving record as defined by HonorHealth Network Driver Qualification Policy
- Completion of HonorHealth Defensive Driving Course if driving vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy cleaning tasks
- Ability to work night shift
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocols
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and floor care duties
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 12 to 24 months of relevant experience preferred
- Knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques
- Ability to follow established cleaning protocols
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Valid driver license
- Completion of defensive driving course if driving duties assigned
Job Duties
- Places linen on distribution carts
- Folds and stages scrub sets for stocking in Scrub Ex machines
- Cleans and organizes linen room
- Fills requisitions for housekeeping supplies
- Delivers and replenishes nursing unit supply closets
- Stages Housekeeper carts with supplies, chemicals and mops
- Dust mops floors and corridors as assigned
- Inspects cleaning equipment and performs scheduled preventative maintenance
- Participates in patient safety rounding
- Monitors patient for signs of distress
- Alerts nursing personnel when intervention or clinical monitoring is required
- Maintains hard surface floors by following correct processes for floor care
- Evaluates and maintains hard surface floors to organizational standards
- Follows stripping and refinishing procedures
- Maintains soft surface floors by proper daily and periodical carpet care
- Applies knowledge of spotting techniques
- Cleans assigned patient and non-patient areas and equipment according to established procedures
- Cleans, sanitizes and makes beds on transfers and discharges
- Transports regular waste, medical waste, and linen to collection sites
- Maintains cleanliness of soiled utility rooms and waste carts
- Wears PPE while performing cleaning or waste transport duties
