Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience in housekeeping preferred
  • Prior experience in full-service hotel environments preferred
  • Proficient in English with strong reading and writing skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate and train team members
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office
  • Physically capable of standing, bending, climbing, kneeling regularly
  • Able to handle commercial cleaning chemicals safely
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work mid-shift hours including some weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years housekeeping experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Previous background in full-service hotels preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
  • Other languages beneficial
  • Reading and writing abilities required to document tasks, order supplies, receive instructions, and read equipment manuals including safety information
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility
  • Ability to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work mid-shift 12:00pm to 8:30pm, some weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients
  • Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates of the hotel
  • Partner with the Director of Housekeeping to develop, manage and monitor performance while making recommendations for disciplinary and other human resources-related actions
  • Inspect all assigned guest rooms, suites, and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms, suites, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair
  • Advise employees of deficiencies and provide retraining as needed
  • Assist with training employees and ensuring they have the tools and equipment needed
  • Assist with scheduling and room cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage
  • Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning guest suites and hotel public space
  • Partner with the Director of Housekeeping to inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies
  • Monitor commercial laundry supplies and equipment
  • Manage procedures of lost and found items
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services
  • Perform other duties as assigned
