Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience in housekeeping preferred
- Prior experience in full-service hotel environments preferred
- Proficient in English with strong reading and writing skills
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and train team members
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office
- Physically capable of standing, bending, climbing, kneeling regularly
- Able to handle commercial cleaning chemicals safely
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work mid-shift hours including some weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years housekeeping experience in a supervisory role preferred
- Previous background in full-service hotels preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
- Other languages beneficial
- Reading and writing abilities required to document tasks, order supplies, receive instructions, and read equipment manuals including safety information
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Office preferred
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility
- Ability to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals
- Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Availability to work mid-shift 12:00pm to 8:30pm, some weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients
- Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates of the hotel
- Partner with the Director of Housekeeping to develop, manage and monitor performance while making recommendations for disciplinary and other human resources-related actions
- Inspect all assigned guest rooms, suites, and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms, suites, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair
- Advise employees of deficiencies and provide retraining as needed
- Assist with training employees and ensuring they have the tools and equipment needed
- Assist with scheduling and room cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage
- Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning guest suites and hotel public space
- Partner with the Director of Housekeeping to inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies
- Monitor commercial laundry supplies and equipment
- Manage procedures of lost and found items
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety services
- Perform other duties as assigned
