Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen years of age
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prefer prior housekeeping or janitorial experience
- able to safely operate standard household equipment including dishwasher, iron, vacuum, washer, dryer
- knowledge of and/or ability to learn assisted living and dementia care
- able to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individuals
- able to operate office equipment including copier, telephone, postage machine, time clock, medical alert system
- able to adapt and respond to change, make decisions, and prioritize tasks and projects
- able to read, write and speak English
- must be highly motivated and able to work independently
- able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR as needed
- must pass criminal background check and health screening tests
- may require vaccination, daily screening, surveillance testing, and wearing PPE to prevent communicable diseases per regulatory guidelines

- ability to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certifications
- must pass criminal background check and health screening
- willingness to comply with COVID-19 related health measures as required
Job Duties
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct housekeeping department and its programs
- ensure work and cleaning schedules are followed
- supervise housekeeping team members to meet community standards
- ensure safety regulations adherence in equipment and supply use
- conduct weekly inspections of resident rooms, corridors, laundry facilities, and common areas
- maintain cleanliness and safety of property
- arrange job coverage during absences
- order equipment, supplies, and linens
- add new residents to housekeeping and laundry schedule
- ensure resident ironing compliance with standards
- clean resident apartments and public areas as needed
- stock and secure housekeeping carts and chemicals
- maintain assigned work areas hazard-free
- use protective equipment and follow infection control procedures
- handle cleaning chemicals properly per instructions
- ensure availability of safety data sheets
- report mislabeled hazardous containers
- assist maintenance director in budget and policy preparation
- hire, evaluate, motivate, schedule, and supervise department team members
- make recommendations for staff evaluations and disciplinary actions
