Job Requirements

  • Previous experience within the hospitality industry, preferably in housekeeping
  • ability to work on your feet, walk, climb stairs, lift, bend and stretch throughout the course of the entire scheduled shift
  • flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • ability to evaluate and improve the performance of others
  • ability to provide clear direction and guidance to team members
  • ability to communicate effectively to team members
  • bi-lingual language skills are a plus

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership support and be readily accessible to staff
  • supervise the housekeeping employees to attract, retain and motivate them while providing a safe work environment
  • assist the Director of Housekeeping and or the Assistant Housekeeping with the interviewing, scheduling, training, development, empowerment, coaching and counseling of staff
  • conduct training and coaching sessions on chemical usage, departmental policies, and the various components of the Hay Adams Standards of Excellence
  • respond to and follow through on guest requests, concerns and problems
  • prepare staff work schedules based on present and anticipated occupancy levels and union guidelines
  • prepare payroll to include extra earnings
  • primarily responsible for the operation of the department in the absence of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager or the Director of Housekeeping
  • review current standards, property and industry-wide, and makes recommendations for review or change
  • assist in the inventory of supplies and equipment
  • assist in the investigation of new and improved cleaning instruments and methods
  • perform other functions as required and directed
