Job Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Prior resort or hotel housekeeping operations experience preferred
  • Must present a positive, friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers
  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents, stain removal, and operation of various cleaning equipment such as shampooers
  • Experience using chemical cleaning agents safely and effectively
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions in detail-oriented manner
  • Ability to work well under pressure while resolving guest complaints tactfully
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear frequently
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to see and hear to safely assist guests in emergencies
  • Ability to work long shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced resort environment

  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and ability to compute rates and ratios
  • Strong reasoning ability and problem-solving skills
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Good vision and hearing to assist guests in emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Supervise, schedule, and train Housekeeping staff emphasizing guest relations skills
  • Establish and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, departmental policies and liaison with other managers as appropriate
  • Respond to guest requests, inquiries and complaints with accurate information and with a positive attitude to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Supervise the appropriate selection of rooms, based on guest needs and instructions as per the Director of Housekeeping
  • Maintain Housekeeping supplies
  • Conduct property inspections at the start of each shift, including main lobby, guest corridors, elevator landings, and public spaces
  • Provide constant and consistent communications with other Housekeeping staff and other departments as needed
  • Work well under pressure patiently and tactfully to effectively resolve guest complaints
  • Answer and dispatch calls within the Housekeeping office
  • Delegate requests from guests or employees
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs
  • Prepare daily work assignment sheets for room attendants
  • Coordinate and monitor Room Attendants, Public Area, and Inspectress
  • Update Inspectress and Room Attendants assignment sheets
  • Assist with assigning and distributing uniforms to employees
  • Perform daily key and cell phone control and inventory upon arrival and departure of shifts
  • Review and update team member timecards
