Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months or more of related experience preferred
- Availability to work part-time hours primarily Friday through Monday
- Ability to perform physical tasks including mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and lifting
- Willingness and ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment
- CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications to be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Commitment to comply with YMCA policies including youth protection and safety
- Ability to communicate effectively and report safety hazards
- Willingness to support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks independently
Job Qualifications
- Six months or more of related experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
- Basic understanding of upkeep and care of equipment
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use
- CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days
- Completion of Praesidium Academy trainings
- Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others
Job Duties
- Complete all duties listed on the daily cleaning schedule including mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, lawn care, and snow removal
- Operate motorized and non-motorized cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Record and report all needed repairs and perform minor repairs as directed
- Ensure the YMCA building and property is secure during shifts and report incidents or hazardous conditions
- Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies
- Set up furniture for events
- Focus on character development and diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout programming
- Report damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly
- Perform other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA
