Job Requirements
- Must have ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
- Must be able to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
- Must meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Physical and sensory requirements include walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with residents and personnel and ability to remain calm under stress
- Ability to understand and follow training and in-service education

Job Duties
- Clean and straighten rooms, offices, and common areas including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, polishing
- Ensure resident rooms are safe, comfortable, and well-maintained while safeguarding personal items
- Clean up spills and soiled areas
- Ensure work areas are safe and comply with procedures related to cleaners, hazardous materials, and equipment storage
- Follow universal precautions, infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation practices
- Attend orientation and in-service education programs required by the state or facility
- Report incidents and accidents and ensure cleaning schedules are followed
- Coordinate housekeeping services with other departments
- Maintain equipment, supply carts, and supplies
- Ensure lighting is functioning properly
- Assist in heavy lifting as needed
- Strip, wax, and buff floors
- Move and replace furniture
- Clean storage and exterior areas as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
