Job Requirements
- Ability to hold, handle, lift, and carry materials
- Ability to reach at and below shoulder height

- Skill in grasping and handling small equipment and paperwork

- Ability to hear instructions and respond to resident requests

- Ability to take and give instructions well
- Enjoy working with elderly residents
- No licensure required
- Awareness of occupational risks categorized as Category II by CDC (non-blood exposure, emergency exposure possible)
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in facility cleaning and maintenance preferred
- Basic knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures
- Ability to supervise and coordinate staff
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and facility protocols
- Understanding of safety regulations related to elderly care environments
- Physical ability to perform cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs
- Commitment to promoting residents' rights and well-being
- Previous experience in a nursing facility or similar healthcare environment is a plus
Job Duties
- Oversee and perform daily floor cleaning including dry mopping, wet mopping, and buffing in various facility areas
- Remove and replace floor finish on tile floors
- Oversee cleaning of spills or soiled areas as directed
- Maintain clean storage areas and move furniture as needed
- Perform minor repairs to building, equipment, furniture, and fixtures
- Maintain proper functioning and adequacy of lighting
- Oversee daily functions of housekeeping and laundry staff
- Oversee daily maintenance services
- May be required to flip mattresses on resident beds
- Oversee cleaning of dining room after all meals
- Change cubical curtains and drapes as needed
- Follow all duties as directed by the Administrator
- Understand and follow rules and regulations regarding residents' rights
- Prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation in elderly residents
- Promote a safe, clean, and positive environment
- Maintain staffing for Environmental and Maintenance Departments
- Be a participating facility team member with residents as first priority
