Job Requirements
- Flexible and adaptable to work in a variety of areas, conditions and changing start or end times
- proactive in communicating concerns and reacting to situations
- ability to use personal protective equipment, hand tools, power equipment, disinfectants, degreasing chemicals and cleaning products
- some roles require specialized training in procedure and ergonomic principles
- willing to get dirty and clean up others messes
- enthusiastic about interacting and helping guests
- self-directed and able to complete repetitious tasks while maintaining quality
- comfortable working in a fast paced, goal driven environment cleaning approximately 14 rooms per day
- typically works alone in guest rooms for most of the shift
Job Qualifications
- Enjoys cleaning
- previous experience in a cleaning environment such as housekeeping or kitchen or restaurant
- previous experience in a self-directed role requiring little supervision
- knowledge of Hawaiian or Japanese language preferred
Job Duties
- Clean approximately 14 guest units per day including making beds and cleaning bathrooms
- change bedding such as bed sacks, blankets, duvet covers and inserts on specified days
- vacuum and edge carpets including underneath furniture and remove carpet spots
- clean and touch up windows, walls and baseboards
- clean patios, balconies, walls, floors and furniture
- fold towels with special touches such as crimping toilet paper and tissues
- clean entrance of rooms including doors and surrounding walls
- replace amenities in guest rooms
- change shower liners, shower curtains and bed pads
- replace glasses, mugs and carafes including cleaning coffee filters
- change iron board covers as needed
- stock carts and baskets and take inventory of amenities, linen and terry
- perform deep cleaning of rooms and bathrooms on specified days
- perform nightly turndown duties for VIP level and specified guests
