Job Requirements

- previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred

Job Duties
- Provide main service to all guest rooms
- respond promptly to any guest room cleaning requests
- provide quality service to ensure positive comment cards
- create a safe, comfortable and friendly working environment
- provide overall cleaning services to guest rooms
- strip all beds used in check-out and occupied rooms
- make up bed according to hotel standards
- check under the bed
- replace any burnt out light bulbs
- dust and/or polish all furniture
- vacuum carpets, mop wooden floors and dust high
- clean doors inside and out
- wash and polish mirrors and windows
- turn on TV to make sure it is working properly
- check room for damage and report to Housekeeping
- clean closet including closet mirrors
- empty, wash and dry all ashtrays when instructed
- empty and wipe out wastebaskets
- replace all used or damaged amenities
- fold guest belongings and pair up shoes for stay over guests
- check all areas of rooms for any left items and report to Security
- clean telephone
- wash and dry all tile or marble surfaces
- wash and dry tub
- clean and polish all brass
- wash and dry shower doors
- clean inside and outside of toilet
- replace all soiled linen in the bag
- restock amenities, toilet tissue and Kleenex
- clean the water glasses
- clean and dry ice bucket, tray and glasses
- clean and service all assigned rooms to standard set by El Encanto and LQA standards
- maintain neat appearance of housekeeper's bag/basket
- keep housekeeping carts, linen and supply rooms neat and orderly at all times
- assist in any other related duties as required
- maintain a professional appearance and attitude
- report all maintenance concerns to supervisor or office coordinator
- complete all assigned tasks in accordance with safety procedures defined by El Encanto
- follow key handling procedure
- report and hand in all Lost and Found items according to established procedures
- follow all procedures regarding punch-in and punch-out for work as defined
- follow attendance, lateness and absence policies
- follow standards set by El Encanto and LQA
- utilize supplies efficiently to eliminate waste
- follow recycling practices
- use utilities and resources responsibly to control wastage
- communicate relevant information to the department and line manager
- comply with safe working practices, health and safety policy and report accidents or defects immediately
- attend learning and development courses and complete eLearning modules as required
