Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate or training
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity to perform housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, moving furniture, making beds, changing linens, polishing fixtures, and cleaning floors
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to use stairs and service elevators to move throughout the building
- Ability to stand and walk for entire shift
- Ability to perform light to moderately heavy housekeeping duties including lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and climbing on step stools
- Ability to use tact and discretion with guests personal items
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate or training
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred, especially in luxury or boutique hotel settings
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with guests, coworkers, and management
- Knowledge of cleaning products and proper usage
- Familiarity with safety and security policies
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Job Duties
- Clean guest rooms including stripping bed and linens, emptying trash, cleaning mirrors, dusting furniture
- Clean and sanitize guest bathrooms including commodes, tubs, floors, marble countertops, walls, mirrors
- Gather and dispose of trash and waste properly
- Ensure lost and found items are tagged and delivered for logging
- Inspect rooms for needed repairs and cleaning completion
- Report any damage to furniture or fixtures to management
- Verify appropriate use of cleaning products according to safety data sheets
- Arrange furniture, bedding, fixtures, and amenities according to standardized room settings
- Replenish housekeeping items such as bathrobes, slippers, towels, tissue, bath mats, bedding, hangers, pillows, toiletries
- Perform dusting and vacuuming per standards
- Inspect guest rooms and document completed duties
- Replace clean towels on racks
- Place proper quantities of room accessories according to standards
- Operate a light vacuum
- Follow pet, smoke, and bug procedures
- Follow all safety and security policies and procedures
- Prioritize rooms based on guest requests and arrivals
- Complete special projects as requested
- Deep clean assigned guest rooms annually as per schedule and procedure
