Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Ability to follow brand standards and procedures
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to operate laundry equipment when assigned
- Commitment to health and safety compliance
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
Job Qualifications
- Some previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Previous background in extended stay industry preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English preferred
- Basic reading, writing and mathematical abilities preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- Ability to carry, lift or pull items up to 75 pounds
- Experience using commercial cleaning chemicals preferred
- Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all interactions with guests and clients according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
- Respond to guest complaints and special requests ensuring corrective action for complete guest satisfaction
- Clean and service assigned rooms or areas including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, cleaning kitchen area and appliances
- Notify supervisor upon completion of service for room availability
- Report rooms unable to be serviced to supervisor
- Monitor laundry supplies and equipment ensuring sufficiency and functionality
- Operate washers and dryers following hotel and manufacturer guidelines
- Inspect soiled linens, fold and store clean linens, report damages
- Minimize waste of supplies and amenities
- Assist with deep cleaning projects
- Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions
- Handle lost and found items per procedures
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
