Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • None necessary since this is an entry-level position
  • Ability to learn and utilize cleaning applications and products
  • Skill in following directions and organizing work
  • Ability to perform basic computer tasks e.g. logging in and checking e-mail
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to read or listen and comprehend simple instructions if patient facing

Job Duties

  • Provide a sanitary and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors and employees
  • Clean sterile areas of the hospital
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces by wiping, dusting, dust mopping, wet mopping, scrubbing and vacuuming
  • Gather and dispose of trash, waste materials and bio-hazardous materials
  • Service and refill paper and soap dispensers
  • Maintain hospital equipment and supplies in good working order
  • Remove and re-hang draperies and cubicle curtains
