Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form
- Physical ability to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, reach and carry
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capability to move furniture and housekeeping equipment
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to observe and report issues accurately
- Willingness to perform minor repairs and janitorial tasks
- Flexibility to handle additional duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- A passion for helping seniors
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and oral form) in a care setting with residents, families, staff
- Must be able to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crawl, push, reach and carry, stand for extended periods of time and may be required to move furniture
- Able to respond productively and to handle additional tasks/projects as assigned
- Ability to detect odors and see spots and spills
- Ability to move housekeeping cart with cleaning equipment
Job Duties
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality and a home-like environment for residents
- Monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks
- Communicates chemical, supply and equipment needs to Executive Director
- Maintains required records
- uses Maintenance Request Log appropriately
- Familiarizes self with cleaning schedules of residents' apartments and common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks
- Performs housekeeping, janitorial tasks and minor repairs as assigned
- Assures that other janitorial and repair requests are properly logged and monitors their completion
- Provides laundry services as needed and/or directed
- Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures
- Observes problems, concerns and issues observed with resident units, the community and the grounds and communicates them appropriately
- Observes changes in resident status, needs or preferences and communicates them appropriately
- Observes other problems and communicates them appropriately
- Observes all work, safety and administrative rules
- Adheres to all established policies and procedures
- Records resident information as required
- Avoids loss, breakage and waste of supplies and equipment
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety and other emergencies
- Associate should perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
