Job Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs following appropriate safety procedures
- ability to stand for long periods
- ability to crawl in small and tight spaces
- ability to work in various environmental conditions including heat, cold, wind and rain
- ability to walk and climb stairs
- ability to handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment
- ability to reach with hands and arms
- ability to quickly navigate the property as required
- ability to perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers
- ability to respond to emergencies timely
- ability to climb ladders and work at heights above ground level up to 3 feet
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- previous custodial experience preferred
- effective written and verbal communication skills
- strong customer service skills
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties including sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs and window cleaning
- informs supervisor of needed supplies
- maintains all cleaning solutions in accordance with OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals
- removes trash from premises and assists in emergency cleaning
- properly utilizes new equipment and follows safety procedures
- maintains a friendly and professional attitude
- responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas
- inspects all assigned areas daily and reports discrepancies to supervisor
- ensures security procedures are always adhered to
- ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work
- maintains working relationship with building staff
- furnishes and burnishes floors as required
- completes daily work orders as scheduled
- maintains assigned equipment in good working condition
- cleans restrooms including sweeping, mopping, refilling dispensers, cleaning toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors and counters
- reports any discrepancies or deficiencies to supervisor
- responds to emergencies promptly
