Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the residents
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and instruction manuals
  • Interest in working with a senior population
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities including close and color vision

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrates an interest in working with a senior population
  • Interacts with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to frequently climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision and color vision

Job Duties

  • Performs cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices
  • Sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways
  • Spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners
  • Rotates runners in hallways and entryways
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities
  • Stocks dispensers as necessary
  • Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
  • Maintains equipment and materials in a clean and orderly condition
  • Collects trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas
  • Collects, cleans and redistributes community laundry
  • Maintains commercial laundry in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition
  • Ensures cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
  • Ensures cords, carts, equipment and other hazards are kept out of the way and compliant with fire codes
  • Reports needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper
  • Performs other duties as assigned
