Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • Or two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • Two years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work full time
  • Proactive approach to customer service
  • Ability to follow operational standards and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operational and financial performance monitoring
  • Ability to handle multiple departments and manage diverse teams
  • Experience in human resources activities such as hiring and training

Job Duties

  • Ensures that goals are being translated to the team as they relate to guest tracking and productivity
  • Creates and nurtures a property environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement and a passion for providing service
  • Understands employee and guest satisfaction results and develops game plans to improve areas and expand strengths
  • Ensures that the team has the capabilities to meet expectations
  • Leads by example demonstrating self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm
  • Assists employees in understanding guests' changing needs and exceeding expectations
  • Follows property specific second effort and recovery plan
  • Publishes guest satisfaction results timely including forms, comment cards and letters
  • Takes proactive approaches when dealing with employee and guest concerns
  • Extends professionalism and courtesy to employees and guests at all times
  • Communicates and updates all goals and results with employees
  • Meets semiannually with staff on a one-to-one basis
  • Assists and teaches team scheduling against guest and hours/occupied room goals
  • Performs hourly job functions as needed
  • Provides excellent customer service by being readily available and approachable
  • Responds timely to customer service department requests
  • Ensures all team members meet or exceed hospitality requirements
  • Assists in performing annual quality audit with GM and RD
  • Ensures a viable key control program is in place
  • Reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports to measure productivity and goal achievement and identifies areas needing cost reduction and improvement
  • Interviews and assists in making hiring decisions
  • Receives hiring recommendations from team supervisors
  • Ensures thorough and timely orientation for new team members
