Job Requirements

  • Able to understand and carry out instructions
  • Able to identify and follow directions for chemicals used
  • Dependable and motivated to complete duties without constant supervision
  • Willingness to participate in quality improvement activities
  • Ability to work medium physical demands including lifting 20 to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Knowledge of applicable safety practices including handling wastes, sharps, PPE, and infection control

  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Housekeeping experience preferred
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Ability to operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Willingness to adhere to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, baths, offices, halls, and other areas according to established standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of area and specific items to limit cross infection
  • Remove trash and waste from assigned areas and refill all applicable dispensers
  • Notify supervisor immediately of low supply levels and equipment malfunctions
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain areas in safe condition
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors and carpets
  • Operate cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical
  • Complete all assigned work during shifts without sacrificing quality
  • Maintain work area in an orderly manner
  • Follow sanitation, disinfectant use, and safety standards
  • Dispose materials according to policy guidelines
  • Observe isolation and asepsis techniques
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
