Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a housekeeping manager role at a full-service hotel or 6 years line level experience in housekeeping
  • Experience in Marriott Hotels or other full-service hotel brands preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to manage operations and supervise staff
  • Knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards and safety procedures
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prepare reports and handle budgeting
  • Willingness to follow company policies and safety standards
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar housekeeping management role in a full-service hotel or 6 years line-level experience in housekeeping
  • Experience with Marriott Hotels or full-service hotel brands preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of housekeeping standards and procedures in a hotel environment
  • Ability to manage budgeting and cost controls
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct training and performance evaluations
  • Understanding of safety regulations and compliance.

Job Duties

  • Manage daily housekeeping operations including cleanliness and quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
  • Obtain list of vacant rooms and prospective checkouts to prepare work assignments and inform Front Office Manager and Guest Service Agents
  • Assign duties to housekeeping attendants and inspect work for cleanliness standards
  • Ensure team members follow safety rules and take corrective actions
  • Manage Marriott housekeeping systems, cost controls, budgeting, and department profitability
  • Inspect rooms, corridors, lobby, and meeting rooms for repairs or replacements and recommend management actions
  • Ensure proper security of guestrooms and key control procedures
  • Oversee laundry operations
  • Monitor and develop team members, including supervision, counseling, evaluations, and recognition
  • Conduct orientation training for new associates
  • Record work assignments, personnel actions, timesheets, and prepare reports on occupancy and expenses
  • Assist in controlling department expenses
  • Follow company safety and security policies
