Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience in housekeeping or related professional area
  • Or 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • No prior work experience required for degree holders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to perform inspections and manage housekeeping operations
  • Experience with scheduling and administrative tasks
  • Commitment to high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction
  • Capability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues effectively

Job Qualifications

  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major

Job Duties

  • Ensures guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner
  • Inspects guestrooms daily
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and prepares work assignments
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies
  • Supports and supervises inspection programs for guestrooms and public spaces
  • Manages department to achieve or exceed budgeted financial goals
  • Ensures associates have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
  • Communicates areas needing attention to staff and follows up
  • Supervises daily Housekeeping shift operations and ensures compliance with policies and procedures
  • Schedules associates according to business demands and tracks attendance
  • Provides feedback on service behaviors and recognizes team contributions
  • Uses training tools to train new hires and follow-up training
  • Maintains open and collaborative relationships with associates
  • Administers property policies fairly and completes disciplinary procedures
  • Solicits and addresses associate feedback and concerns
  • Participates in interviewing and hiring of team members
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations
  • Develops and implements corrective action plans for guest satisfaction
  • Empowers associates to provide excellent customer service
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
  • Strives to improve service performance continuously
