Job Requirements

  • At least 2 years of housekeeping management experience in a hotel environment
  • Four-year college degree or a two-year college degree with one or more years of related experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Windows and company approved software programs, spreadsheets and word processing
  • Ability to work long hours sometimes
  • Capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push or pull objects
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in Manager On Duty coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance as scheduled
  • Adhere to high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with InnVentures standards and regulations
  • Maximize productivity and assist in problem solving
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information

  • Experience with employee coaching, counseling and disciplining according to SOPs
  • Experience in training and developing housekeeping personnel
  • Experience in inventory management and ordering supplies
  • Knowledge of hospitality terms and hotel operations

Job Duties

  • Ensure attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous interaction with all guests, managers, and employees
  • Respond to guest requests, problems, complaints,and accidents in an efficient and courteous manner and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline housekeeping personnel according to InnVentures SOP's
  • Ensure compliance with Standard of the Week training using InnVentures effective training steps
  • Maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program and detailed checklists for each position
  • Assist in maintaining and controlling housekeeping equipment
  • Ensure compliance with corporate Risk Management standards such as MSDS and HazComm
  • Manage large guestroom turns efficiently
  • Ensure consistency in departmental opening and closing procedures
  • Conduct interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • Develop employee morale and provide training for housekeeping personnel
  • Conduct daily room inspections and assist in VIP room inspections
  • Ensure public areas, guest rooms and back-of-house areas meet InnVentures cleaning standards
  • Maintain required pars of all housekeeping and laundry supplies by ordering
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly housekeeping inventories timely
  • Ensure guest privacy and security by following InnVentures procedures
  • Monitor work orders and follow up to completion
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings for housekeepers
  • Respond to emergencies using current MSD sheets
  • Balance and clear room status nightly and resolve discrepancies
  • Review staff work hours for payroll and submit on time
  • Assist in preparing employee schedules based on forecast and budgets
  • Maintain SOPs for purchase orders, invoicing, and accounting
  • Promote open communication with managers, employees, and departments
  • Enforce implementation of hotel policies and house rules
  • Ensure sign-offs on all Service Standards for housekeeping staff
  • Operate pagers and radios professionally and ensure proper radio etiquette
  • Organize large turn days including group check-ins and check-outs
  • Monitor out-of-order and discrepant rooms
  • Maintain communication with Guest Services
  • Manage special requests including VIP and connecting rooms
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and provide rotational training
  • Maintain Lost and Found procedures
  • Control keys for housekeeping
  • Participate in monthly InnVentures team meetings
  • Focus department efforts on improving Guest Service and audit scores
  • Monitor VIPs and special guest requests daily
  • Review housekeeping and guest request logs
  • Maintain organized filing system for purchases, schedules, reports and logs
  • Use telephone and computer systems to report and verify room status
  • Record and check valet laundry
  • Properly store, secure and issue supplies
  • Ensure biannual maintenance and cleaning projects
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
