Job Requirements

- ability to navigate basic web applications
- ability to follow written and oral instructions in English
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- ability to stand and move throughout majority of shift
- vaccination against influenza as a condition of employment

Job Duties
- Perform multiple step cleaning procedures including daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, discharge bed making, O.R. cleaning, and between case cleaning
- conduct upholstery, wall, and glass care
- perform dry and wet mopping of common areas using appropriate equipment including floor care machines
- apply floor and carpet care techniques such as bonneting and extracting
- respond promptly to stat orders such as discharges, spills, floods, and hospital-wide emergency drills
- clean all organic body waste and patient equipment including IV poles, commodes, monitors, special equipment, stretchers, wheelchairs, and cardiac chairs
- assist in patient moves and special set-ups
- collect and seal solid and contaminated waste, delivering to designated disposal areas
- prepare and select cleaning solutions according to departmental procedures
- report low inventory supplies and malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
- maintain cleanliness and orderliness of housekeeping cart
- deliver soiled mops, cleaning cloths, and linens to designated areas
- communicate compassionately and respectfully with patients, families, and healthcare staff
- adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times
