Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous custodial experience preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting 40 pounds
- Ability to work varying shifts
- Compliance with drug-free workplace policy and pre-employment substance abuse testing
- Eligibility as a U.S. person under federal contract regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous custodial experience preferred, especially in healthcare or hospitality
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English
- Knowledge of handling cleaning chemicals and regulated medical waste
- Familiarity with use of PPE
- Ability to operate motorized floor cleaning equipment
- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds
Job Duties
- Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, beds, gurneys, examination tables, restrooms, offices, and other common hospital areas to established standards
- Performs terminal cleaning of patient and special procedure rooms according to standard procedures
- Collects and disposes of regular trash, regulated medical waste, and recyclable materials
- Collects and removes soiled linen into appropriate bins
- Replenishes hand soap, hand sanitizer, and other supplies as needed
- Dust mops floors using microfiber materials following standard operating procedures
- Wet mops floors with disinfectant using microfiber materials
- Dusts all horizontal and vertical surfaces, furniture, walls, fixtures, air vents, handrails, blinds, windows, and sills
- Handles cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety guidelines and appropriate PPE
- Performs floor care work such as buffing, stripping, refinishing, and scrubbing baseboards when trained
- Deliver linens and document new and salvaged linen according to facility policies
- Reports maintenance or repair conditions to supervisors
- Performs other duties as assigned
