Job Duties

  • clean hotel floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
  • steam clean or shampoo carpets
  • strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
  • perform heavy cleaning duties such as shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash
  • follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
  • assist Room Attendants with stripping beds and removing linens
  • move linens to and from laundry areas and closets
  • restock guest room supplies and linens
  • dust furniture, pictures, and shelves
  • polish wood, marble, and other materials in public view
  • clean glass windows, doors, and partitions
  • empty trash receptacles and replace trash bags
  • notify Housekeeping Management about the need to replenish supplies
  • thoroughly clean public restrooms including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents, and/or floors with appropriate cleaning agents
  • immediately report any noted repairs or maintenance needs
  • resolve guest complaints within scope of authority or refer to management
  • notify supervisor and/or Security of unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
  • notify management of problems resulting from guest complaints, intoxication or disruptive behavior
  • wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes
  • report to work as scheduled on time and on a regular basis
